Out of nowhere, I’m in like with Friend. He’s the one I randomly hang out with…we jump into the ocean together at night during sunset.
I’ve known him for 10 years. I guess I’ve never actively thought about him in that way. I’m not sure how I was feeling about him this summer as we cruised on our bikes to the beach, jumped into the ocean at sunset.
And then the other night happened.
We jumped into the ocean for sunset on Wednesday, nothing out of the ordinary. He kissed my cheek when he left.
We hung out again Thursday, only this time, there was beer involved. Swam in the ocean, got some sun, had some conversations about life. Went to grab a drink at the local sports bar we met up a few times at to watch some football games last fall.
Then we went to the pier to watch the sunset. I talked him into jumping into the water. He picked me up and held me close in the water. We started making out.
Came back to my house and yes. That happened. And then he left.
We’ve talked some since. I haven’t seen him. But when i started thinking about him, I realized that I like him.
He’s wrong for me on paper. He’s 5 years younger, no career going on…but something about his energy draws me.
I invited him to the beach yesterday but he was working.
I’m not going to invite him anywhere now…I’m going to wait and see what happens. I figure if he decides he wants to hang out, he will let me know.
But in the meantime, I’m waiting, thinking about the other night, thinking about sunsets and the ocean with him and, well, it’s fucking delicious.
